Clerkenwell was London's medieval suburb. Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys and Lenin are just a few of the great personalities who make up Clerkenwell's fascinating history.we will see the ancient Fons Clericorum or Clerk's Well which gave the area its name and the village green which for centuries was the setting for radical meetings. We will also visit the sites of two religious foundations and an infamous prison and see how craftspeople are now returning to Clerkenwell.

CIGA guides are qualified London guides and members of the Clerkenwell and Islington Guides Association.
